Dryer are considered to be the main active catalysts in dry air paints. In other words, different metal compounds are like manganese metal compounds that are used as dryers in air paints. Active surface catalysts are used both in dry air colors and in furnace paints.

Cobalt is the most active metal in dryers and its consumption is 2 to 5 percent of the weight of non-volatile carriers. Cobalt is used as a non-saturated polyester resin accelerator and also as a surface dryer for dry air alkyd resins with deep and auxiliary dryers such as lead and calcium.

Due to its polymerization properties, lead has high stability, hardness and increases water resistance. Calcium also has properties such as diffusive and moisturizing properties and reduces the absorption of dryers by pigments.

Rapid drying of the film can adversely affect the alignment of the paint on the surface, causing wrinkles on the film, often accompanied by the process of closing the paint in the can. Therefore, the use of volatile antioxidants to prevent the closure of the paint is inevitable. Therefore, when using drying compounds, a distinction must be made between the rapid drying of the film and the gradual drying of the paint layers.

Excessive use of dryers also causes wrinkles on the surface and increases the brittleness of the paint film. Also, if you do not adjust the amount of use due to the rapid drying of the surface, it will prevent deep drying of the film.
