Cyclohexanone

Cyclohexanone is an oily, lucid, colorless (gradually turns to light yellow) and smells like acetone and spearmint, flammable and toxic that can be prepared from cyclohexanone oxidation by chromic acid. Also it can be obtained from cyclohexanone oxidation in air in presence of cobalt catalyst and hydrogenation of fennel.

Cyclohexanone with C₆H₁₀O molecular formula is a cyclic molecule with 6 carbons and a functional ketone group that isn’t soluble in water but it is soluble in Ethel Ether, Ethanol, Acetone and other usual organic solvents. Its density is less than water but its vapors are heavier than that. This matter is available in both form of natural and synthesized. For examples as a volatile in human urine and a little bit in petroleum derivations.

Cyclohexanone applications

Cyclohexanone mostly use as intermediate or additive in plastic synthesize, produce dye and cellulose varnish, produce soaps and all kinds of detergents emulsion and as an active matter in antibacterial and antifungal and as solvent for Degreasing and clean Silk, printing ink, herbicide, pesticides, plastics, chemical materials, rubber and produce Adipic acid, polyvinyl chloride, caprolactam, methacrylate ester polymers of its derivations.  Cyclohexanone use and maintenance conditions.This matter is extremely flammable and toxic, and it is absorbed from skin, respiratory system and digestive system to body. Of its harms can be mentioned to skin irritation, destruction of eye tissue, damage to mucous membrane and etc. in the way that it can make irritation of eye and skin, vertigo, nausea and headache while prolonged presence. So seriously recommended to use mask, gloves and other safety stuffs while working with that. and don’t be in contact to this material, for long time.
