Natrasol 250, or hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC), is a white powder that dissolves easily in hot and cold water to form solutions with different viscosities.

In fact, this cellulose material has a short to very long chain length, which has been converted to a hydroxyethyl ether to achieve the desired balance. This substance can be used for various purposes such as hair conditioner, liquid soaps, shaving and foaming gels, toothpaste, wet wipes, cosmetics, for example mascara.

The material dissolves easily in water to provide clear, smooth solutions, which exhibit quasi-plastic flow behavior. Due to its non-ionic properties, Natrasol 250 is widely compatible with other materials such as emulsion polymers, natural and synthetic resins, emulsifiers, etc.

They also disperse at neutral pH at ambient temperature without mass formation and provide easy dissolution. These solutions are ineffective at high concentrations of soluble salts. The viscosity is slightly affected by acids and mild alkalis.

Natrasol 250 is used in a variety of markets, including adhesives and sealants, advanced ceramics, construction, ceramics, pottery and porcelain, oil and gas technologies, metal castings, paints and coatings, personal care, pharmaceuticals, pulp and paper.

As a protective and stabilizing colloid, it has significant performance in emulsifying polymerization and suspension of many vinyl polymers. Therefore, the unique combination of these properties causes its use in the dispersion of pigments and tile adhesives. It is also used as a high-efficiency non-ionic concentrator, to help absorb water and modify rheological properties in a variety of water-based paints and surface coatings, adhesives, and in a variety of other industrial blue products.
